The Mass and the Eucharist
While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went to them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. . .And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. . .When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened and they recogtnized him; and he vanished out of their sight. . .Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread.--Luke 24:15-16,27,30-31,35
And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. . .And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes.--Acts 2:42,46
